With over 81% of our target market searching for our allergy and asthma center online, we are always trying to find new ways to connect allergy sufferers searching the web in our local area. We can only imagine how frustrating it must be sifting through dozens of allergy information web sites looking for a local clinic.
Certain misspelled words such as “ashtma doctor” or “asma doctor” have millions of searches across the worldwide web and its numerous search engines. A majority of search engine users are not English professors but still are valuable and respected patients looking for a cure for their allergy or asthma problems.
Our search engine expert pulled up the Google AdWords Keyword Tool we were amazed to see the sheer number of search engine keywords that are actually misspelled words. Many times people will search for things but they will have misspelled words in their search engine’s box.
Misspelling a bunch of keywords in our articles on purpose may bring us lots of traffic, but we agreed with our search engine guru that it’s probably not the best strategy. Especially since most search engines will now suggest the right keyword. This will probably affect a large part of the expected traffic.
For now, we’ll continue to spell our words correctly in our blog articles, and hope people will brush up on their spelling skills.
